Biotech company to expand into Pearland

From the Houston Business Journal …

Lonza Group plans to build a massive biotechnology facility in Pearland that will be home to at least 50 employees and will relocate Lonza’s current Houston operations to the southeastern suburb.

Average holiday budget for Pearland homes is $2,162

According to the Houston Business Journal, four Houston-area suburbs made the top-10 list for cities with the highest holiday budgets. And, yes, that includes Pearland.

Let me repeat that: Pearland residents have some of the largest holiday budgets in the country. In. the. country.

Other cities that made the list include:

Sugar Land with a budget of $2,422.
The Woodlands with a budget of $2,158.
League City with a budget of $2,112.

Killen’s steakhouse to open November 9, 2015

Great news via The Houston Chronicle: The long-awaited Killen’s Steakhouse replacement location is set to open on Monday, November 9, 2015. The new location of this restaurant will be 6425 Broadway, Pearland TX.

I haven’t tried any of the Killen’s restaurants yet … but I will soon.

Texas 288 toll lane work expected mid-2016


The Houston Chronicle reports that work to build the 288 toll lanes has been delayed to later in 2016 than initially expected. I’ll be paying attention to this (as many of you will too) since this is my main way into Houston.
