Average holiday budget for Pearland homes is $2,162

According to the Houston Business Journal, four Houston-area suburbs made the top-10 list for cities with the highest holiday budgets. And, yes, that includes Pearland.

Let me repeat that: Pearland residents have some of the largest holiday budgets in the country. In. the. country.

Other cities that made the list include:

Sugar Land with a budget of $2,422.
The Woodlands with a budget of $2,158.
League City with a budget of $2,112.

Pearland came in at No. 6 in top places to live in Texas

A recent NerdWallet article ranked Pearland as No. 6 in top places to live in Texas. NerdWallet ranked the 50 largest cities in Texas on quality-of-life indicators to determine the best places to live. The qualities assessed included crime, housing and demographics, education, and walk score.

A growing community in the southern Houston area, Pearland is a low-crime community that received the list’s highest grade for safety, and 95% of residents in Pearland said in a recent poll that they feel safe in their neighborhood. Pearland’s strengths help spur residential and commercial growth: the city had an unemployment rate of 3.6%, and a homeownership rate of 79.7%. Pearland has earned recognition as a “Tree City USA” for its efforts to “preserve and enhance the urban forest. ”
