Killen’s isn’t the BEST BBQ in the country … it’s the second best, says Food Network

ribs-555068_1920Pearland-based Killen’s Barbecue has consistently garnered the top spot in the “best of” lists since opened last year. The Food Network’s “Top 5 Restaurants” show, however, didn’t pick Killen’s as the best barbecue in the country — they chose it as the second best. Who beat them out for first place? The Bar-B-Q Shop, in Memphis.

Killaches are a best-seller

What happens when you offer Pearland’s best barbecue in a Kolache? You get a Killache, and sell out.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Pena’s Donut Heaven kolache featuring Killen’s Barbecue brisket debuted on Saturday and promptly sold out within hours of opening every day since.

Is anyone actually surprised?
